Worst insurance, dont buy

it has been a year since the accident and aaa insurance is the liable insurance, they still have done nothing to resolve this. They are extremely expensive and they will not pay any claims, suing them in court is the only way and still they just make up excuses for everything, do not use them they are nothing but ***

Service

We've been customer with AAA for almost 10 years & in these past 10 years probably we use the service for couple times. Our car broke down and we call roadside take them almost 2 1/2 hours to come.

When he came he said too far so he will not tow and left, we told him we will pay what the extra cost if after 5 miles but he still left. So we call AAA again & explain to them and told them what kind of car we had. We wait the other 2 hours & when they came it wrong truck so they can't tow and he said have to wait for different truck to come to tow. Now we have to wait the other 2 to 2 1/2 for new truck come to tow.

This is unacceptable you got all the information but still didn't give customer a good service & so terrible.

Now I'm thinking I should change to new company not only that couple my co-workers had the same bad experience. So pissed off wasting my whole dam day....just sit in the car for the 6 to 7 hours for dam tow truck AAA.

Incompetence at AAA Rockland, MA for MA License Renewal

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Sept. 5, 2018 AAA Rockland, MA Total lack of communication and arrogance of AAA Reps on desk in processing MA License renewal. Many elderly, handicapped persons were told to wait several hours before processing license renewals. Most applicants were told to return with additional documentation due to invalid documentation past 60 days, etc. of required mailing address (physical address). If you have a POBox, you are out of luck due to current mailing to your PO Box. Many bills, etc. are processed on line with online banking, and eliminate mailing to physical address. This renewal process is insane, not realistic for US Citizens, law abiding people, who are just trying to renew their driver's license. These requirements and additional stringent requirements should be placed on first time applicants and illegal aliens, not on average law abiding American citizens.

You know the rules before you enter the building so I reject that part of your argument. However, it reads as if your state is truly backwards in the way the renew plates/tags.

Even miserable, greedy, sociopathic Ohio has a mail in system for vehicles registered the year before ; quick and easy.

(and Ohio gets money to play with before you get your 2-cent sticker). Your system is poor for everyone, not just elderly or handicapped ; everyone suffers under a poor system.

My car could have burn up with me in it,be cause of this battery. I call one your District Manager his name is Alex Ortiz (Tomark) .My case #101 922 Mr Ortiz did help. Your car care service in Charlotte seems to be giving run around. I took my car in Friday 17 around 4:00 pm ,I was told by Manager Jamel of this car care shop on W.T.Harris Blvd. I was going to call me Saturday morning, he didn't he around 12 noon.Tell me BMW parts department is not answering their phone or calling him back. So hang the phone and call the parts department myself and I spoke with one the parts department person , there only 2 person in Saturday . Nobody call from AAA on Saturday morning. So I know I was not going to get my on Saturday, okay I said to self wait Monday. I got a call from Jamel Monday morning ,He told he hopes to get the parts around 4:30 pm. At 5:45 I get a call from Jamel office , not Jamel but someone else telling me they can get the part today Monday 20 2018, I know nobody care about me my job or me burning up in this car with a defective car battery, at I purchase from one your service trucks. Simple respect to your customer would help , So far last Saturday and Monday, god only know was going to happen Tuesday, more crap I think, I join your company for car insurance and membership to AAA, I didn't get this Night mare Battery from anyone else but AAA. I pay my bills on time and this the disrespect I get from your Car Care Service ,put me last and than call at end day and tell me tomorrow tomorrow. Cancelling our memberships

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Sad Wife had a flat. AAA sent an idiot tow service rep who installed her partially deflated factory spare - which came off the rim 10 minutes later after he drove away. I had to leave work and drive to the next State to rescue my wife, daughter, sister and 93 year-old mom. With no spare tire, then had to drive from tire shop to tire shop looking for the correct size tire. Bought one, and called AAA again. Gave the rep our location on the busy highway, and requested police presence for safety. But then the AAA rep protested that my highway intersection was actually for another State (ridiculous!). She argued with me for 20 minutes that my mile marker and highway intersections were not on her map! So I demanded she get me a different agent - who found my location within 3 minutes. He asked if I needed police presence, I told him it had already been requested, but he mentioned it was not in the notes, and said he would expedite it. He said the tow truck would arrive in 10 - 15 minutes. After 40 minutes I called for status, but they had no status on the driver. The police never arrived. After an hour I called again and demanded someone call me with status within 5 minutes or I would cancel both memberships. The tow driver finally showed and after inspecting our spare said the driver never should have mounted a partially deflated tire in the first place (stupid!). Every person I dealt with at AAA was basically incompetent. Needless-to-say, I have cancelled both AAA memberships, and am evaluating a replacement. Sad Angry

Does not fulfill its promises, no longer relevant

I’ve always believed AAA road side assistance was something you just had. I’ve been a member for more than 30 years. I’ve given memberships as gifts to relatives and friends. I was driving home tonight, the gas light came on and said I had 50 miles to empty. I was about 4 miles from the gas station when the car sputtered and I coasted to the curb. No problem, I have AAA. HA! What a joke. Now I know they sub contract the tow service. I appreciate the business model. I do expect they have a variety of suppliers and back up options. Apparently I give them too much credit. The guy who answered the phone was nice and pin pointed my location. Then wanted to sell me a AAA battery. I have a new battery and all of the electronics were working fine. Then he wanted to push a tow service. I explained that I was fairly sure I needed gas, but yes, in the event that it wasn’t the gas, I would indeed need a tow. Finally he said the tow had been dispatched. After about 45 minutes I received a call letting me know it would be at least 30 minutes more. Amazing how well they are trained to apologize. I finally had gas delivered on my own and I was off. At least I had the manners to call and cancel the tow. For the nearly $200 a year, once in 5 years I call and all I get is a polished apology . I was told they do the best they can. Well, tomorrow I cancel my AAA membership. A little research and I find a number of options, cheaper and some, including a service that came with the car - included. When I called today to cancel my membership, they said, thank you, we’ll send you a refund. Clearly I’m not very important. Like Sears, AAA isn’t relevant today and not likely to be around for the next generation.

Don’t buy any battery

Do not buy any battery from AAA. I bought one a year ago under warranty 3 years replacement guarantee. Just about 2 days ago my car didn’t start so I called AAA. Their technician check my battery and he said there is a problem with my battery and also alternator so I towed my car to my collision he check my car and he said the alternator is fine you need a new battery. I called the AAA again they sent another person he check my car again and he said I can’t change your battery before you change the alternator and he give me a pice if print out he said show this to next AAA guy they will change your battery after you done with alternator. Now we are in day 3 my collusion change my alternator and he test the old one and said that is still good however I change it for be able to get my $150 battery. Alternator replacement coast me $325 guess what they sent me a new technician and he said the battery is fine there is another issue I can’t change the battery. Mean while my car still doesn’t start I called the AAA they said because I change my alternator my warranty expired.

I said it is a big scam do not buy anything from AAA.

Extremely disappointed in hotel recommendation

We went to AAA in Smithtown ,NY to help us make arrangements for a hotel in London, England. The woman who assisted us suggested the Hilton London Green Park and a reservation was made. I have never had any trouble with recommendations previously made by AAA but our experience at this hotel was so horrible that I felt the need to write this review as I do not know why this hotel is being recommended . The reviews on sites such as Trip Advisor are terrible and I only wish I had read the reviews and found a different hotel, rather than trusting the recommendation of AAA.

The only positive comments I can make about this hotel are that it is in a good location and the concierge and individuals at the front desk were very pleasant.

The cons of this hotel are that (1) it is tired and old, (2) the walls are thin and you can hear music, etc from other rooms, (3) there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, (4) there were cracks in the sink and bathtub, (5) there were stains on the carpet, and (6) the air conditioner was ineffective. If you stood in front of the vent you could feel some air coming out but it was insufficient to cool down the room (and turning down the thermostat did nothing. In addition, on more than one day, there were fans in the lobby because the air conditioner was not working.

I noticed that on Trip Advisor the manager responded to similar comments from previous guests stating that the hotel is due for a makeover. This is great news if you happen to stay in the hotel after the renovations occur (assuming they do) but it does you no good if you stay there before the renovations take place.

I do not know what information AAA bases their recommendation on, but this recommendation was one I wish had never been made.

Only gives you 5 miles and horrible roadside assistance

I had AAA for 4 years and I always thought it was worth the cost when i signed up I assumed i would only need to pay for the membership fee but a few weeks ago my 2007 ford f150 scab pickup truck broke down in the middle of nowhere in Nevada I called AAA and a nice person contacted a tow truck so the tow truck came to pickup my ford f150 scab pickup truck and brought it to the nearest repair shop witch was about 25 miles away I was suprised to receive a bill in the mail charging me 4 dollars a MILE equaling about 110 dollar including taxes as well as fees. I called AAA and found out they only tow 5 free miles unless you have the plus or premier memberships and charge you after the 5 miles but they claim that other tow companies charge 6 or 8 dollars a MILE that is a lie because before i had AAA i used a tow company that only charges 2 dollars a mile and does not require a membership fee or have horrible customer service like AAA does. I have since cancelled my AAA membership and will never use AAA again.

Never trust AAA

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My car had a transmission problem. After calling around SF to find someone who could transmission, I called triple AAA to have them tow to the place. Triple AAA then offered to tow to a place that was AAA approved as I would receive a discount, I asked them if they do transmission and they said yes, i was thinking wow this is great, I didn't have to waste all my time calling around.

However, after getting my car towed there, the person said they didn't do transmission, I told them that AAA said they did, he then said "OK bring me a transmission and I will fix it"...how the *** am i supposed to bring him a transmission?? I don't know much about cars at all in general. I then went to pick up my car to tansfer it to another place...he wanted to charge me 1300$ for "other problems" he found....i said no i want to take my car and get the transmission fixed...he then charged me 100$ for a storage fee just so I could take my car somewhere else.

The other place said that i needed an oil change, tune, transmission fluid, and a new tire. They charge me 450$ and I was done. Car works like new now.

I had to waste two tows and spend 100$ for a triple AAA mistake. I called AAA, they did not reimburse the tows or the 100$, and pretty much said "I know its our fault but we cant do anything about it"

I have been a member for 10 years in so cal and 1 year in nor cal.

I will never use AAA again. And am going to attempt to dispute all charges through AMEX.

Disappointed Customer, Terrible Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
As someone who has been a member of AAA for a few years, and who up until recently never had to make a roadside assistance claim, I was shocked to learn how completely inadequate and incompetent their services truly are during a recent incident that I dealt with. I was on my way to a day trip in a local city, and ended up getting a nail in my tire early on in the drive. Since it was 9 AM, I thought, "no big deal"- I would call AAA, and we could get the situation resolved in a timely manner. From the moment I called the service, I should have known that this was not going to end well. My car did not come with a spare, so I asked that they helped me coordinate a tow. This was a complete disaster. I waited three and a half hours for a tow truck to come, and I was calling AAA frequently because I was receiving no updates from anybody about whether or not a truck was on its way. I needed to make it to a local tire shop to get a new tire before it closed, which originally I thought was not going to be any problem. AAA was no help in this matter, and kept assuring me that the driver was "only 15 minutes away"... Three hours later, I was so upset, and there was no tow truck in sight- and the tire shop was about to close. Finally, the driver got to my location, and I was completely disappointed to see that this individual lacked a sense of professionalism that I assumed was a given. The driver demanded that I pay in cash for the tow, even though I reiterated that this was an emergency, I had no ability to plan for this, and needed to coordinate this with AAA. I ended up being out additional money for the tow, since AAA said that the tire shop was "out of range". After this whole ordeal was over, I called AAA to talk about some of my frustrations in this encounter. The customer service rep was entirely dismissive of my feelings, actually said that "if I wanted better service, I should upgrade my account", and said that I was out of luck to get my money back. Needless to say, AAA did not have my back when I needed it, and I'm positive that I could have dealt with my car trouble more effectively without their "help".

Broke down, called AAA 7:19 am in town, not in the boondocks said we will text you in a few minutes to let you know when we will arrive. At 9:03 they sent a text that they would be arriving at 10:35..... This is in a town 15 mile from San Antonio (the 7th largest city in the USA). Don’t bother with AAA the roadside service sucks, maps are obsolete, all they want to do is sell insurance and trips... AAA is a bad deal.....

Horrible Policy holder experience, Steer clear of AAA Auto insurance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My parked unoccupied vehicle was struck in a parking lot by either another vehicle or object on the left front bumper and left front quarter panel. I reported the hit and run to the police. AAA and it's underwriter CSAA insisted I pay two five hundred dollar deductibles , one for each dent. Their reasoning was one dent was soft and one dent was hard? what does that even mean? As a prior LE officer of 26 years I went to accident investigation school and investigated numerous accidents. Never heard of that B.S. They told me if I do not like their decision to complain to the state, they have no dispute policy in place. Steer clear of this insurance!
