I have a current AAA Membership good through Oct 2017, but when my Wife ran out of gas on the Hwy the other day, and called AAA, they said our membership, which includes me, my wife and our college daughter, AAA told her that our membership had been cancelled! I checked my bank account to confirm that AAA had taken $135 from my account Oct 2016, for a one year membership.

I went online and I am still showing as active. I sent an email to AAA customer service with a copy of my paid invoice. 2 Weeks later, I have not received a response ... Guess I will need to replace with my USAA roadside assistance.

Can't take a chance on my wife or daughter needing help on the road, and AAA not honoring our paid membership agreement. Maybe the BBB should know about this also ...

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $135.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

American Automobile Association Pros: Website.

American Automobile Association Cons: Paying for a service and not getting it, Problem not resolved.

Very similar experience. Sent a check in the mail to renew my membership because their website kept glitching when I tried to renew online.

A week later my physically disabled husband blew a tire one evening when out alone. Called AAA & was told our membership had expired. He explained that the check had been mailed in about a week ago, but they said they had no record of renewal. No serviced could be provided to him without paying an additional fee.

I can see taking a credit card number as a deposit in case a check does not clear, but that is not what they wanted to do. Just rediculous!

Cancelled service & will not renew. Very poor customer service.
