  • AAA blamed me; my front headlights were damaged.
  • Court actions: initial $2,700 award, later $0 on appeal.

the other driver was the blame because of exiting his parking carelessly. Damage my front headlights. Not hood, grille or lower front lights. AAA said he was entering and I was speeding, I hit his rear of car, when the collision was front corner passenger side with his rear passenger corner. AAA always blame me. My pictures show how the accident happened. They dont care. I spend five thousand dollars in repair. AAA sent me a check for $1400.- Because is a total loss and a salvaged car.I return the check. I take them to court, By July 25th Judge decided a compensation to me for $ 2700.- They appeal and by Sept. 29th 2025 judge Ema Castro decided that I receive nothing $ 0.00 nothing. She stated among other considerations that I have not prove or presented documentation. I submit about 30 pages and 6 pictures. By July 3rd I received a letter from the other driver lawyer and AAA claiming he has injuries treatment for $ 45.000.00 and insurance pays $ 15,000.00 and the rest is up to me $ 30,000.00 to pay. I had no injuries he has attending Chiropractic statement ALL spinal cord injuries, cervical, dorsal, lumbar, sacrum down to his *** The amount is exactly that no hundreds no coins. All this appears to me unreal and cause

a compensation claim as possible.Since at time of accident the other driver was decently normal. Pictures of documentation mechanical repairs, parts replacement available. They (AAA) said there was a witness that saw the accident I hit his rear, no witness show up at court. Inventory done two hours after the accident was an inventory of all suspension parts including hood, grille when they were in normal shape. No adjuster was sent to evaluate damages. Who cares! They win just by saying whatever.

Thank you for your consideration.

Jennifer called and told me that I can't win this claim because I am black.

AAA sells defective batteries to get you in their Auto Repair Shops

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Two defective batteries; claim of no liability.
  • Bracket lost; tire swapped; bolt bent; radio repair took 6 months; 2-year Georgia liability; Allstate.
Updated by user Jul 07, 2025

AAA is no longer the company your grandmother and grandfather would use.

Original review Jun 20, 2025
I bought two car batteries from AAA. Both were defective and they have the nerve to tell me they cannot be sued but the providers for the service could be help liable.

They lost the bracket to the battery in one car changing the battery. They changed a tire on my car and replaced it with a spare to get me to a repair shop. In the process, their technician bent up one of the bolts in the process. That had to be fixed.

I drove around for 6 months to find a technician to repair the radio. The first thing AAA did was to whine about the length of time it took them to be contacted.

The law states defective products have a 2 year product liability window, in Georgia. TRY ALLSTATE ROAD SERVICE.

AAA Tow request rejected for not using AAA approved garage

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Requested roadside help in San Jose; spoke to an Arizona agent after a tire blew.
  • Tow to home denied; I borrowed a spare to get the car home.

Requested service in San Jose, CA - spoke to an agent out of Arizona. My car became undriveable after a tire blew out in a hospital parking garage.

I didn't have a spare, so I contacted AAA to use one of the five-mile tows included in my membership. However, my request was rejected because I wanted the car towed to my home, not a AAA-approved garage. I was questioned about why I wasn't taking it to one of their approved shops and told that my request would not be honored.

I ended up having to borrow a spare tire from someone just to get my car home. This situation was stressful and frustrating, especially when my vehicle clearly couldn't be driven.

They won’t tow the car to your home because the garage is going to get your business since it is not driveable. For that, they give AAA a good discount on the tow.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Explained how I was stuck in a ditch for a little over 2 hours

Original review Feb 25, 2025
On Monday, 2/24/2025, I was stuck in a trench and waited two hours for help. When I called back the second time, a kind man asked for my phone number.

That's when I learned that they had put the wrong phone number in for me, as well as mixed up the street, Clayton Road in St. Louis, Missouri. They thought I was in Clayton, Missouri. He said it showed that they tried calling me and got no response.

So then after learning that the number was wrong, I don't understand why they couldn't go back to the first initial call from me to recheck the number because I did get a text from them after I first called for help. I'm a senior citizen, that was frightening.

American Automobile Association - Mannerless Driver with a AAA Student Driver car

Last weekend, I was shocked to see a rude driver tarnishing the AAA name. In a crowded mall parking lot in Cerritos, CA., this car driver bullied his way into a parking spot while another car was patiently waiting its turn to park.

Such behavior is not expected from anyone, let alone someone driving a vehicle with the AAA logo (student driver) displayed all over it. What a sad world we live in; this man driving a student driver vehicle must be given a lesson and provided driving instruction himself.

Since my membership seesm withless no need for me to renew it,

Original review Dec 04, 2024
As a 30 plus year member of AAA, who never needed any assistance until recently. It didn't take me long to realize I wasted a lot of money.paying for a service, that when needed was worthless.
After a recent doctor's appointment my car would not start, the problem appeared to be a dead/weak battery.

I called AAA for assistance and was told that they were experiencing a heavier number of calls than usual and that they would assign the service ticket when a vendor became available. When asked they were unable to give me an estimate of when that might be. After waiting over an hour I called back again only to be told the same thing. I waited another hour before calling again.

Each time I called I had a very difficult time reaching an actual human vs some AI bot. I figured after 2 hours it was time to go in a different direction. That's when I decided to call a local tow company who was able to reach me within an hour. Total time waiting for AAA three hours.

When I called AAA again to cancel the service request they told me that I was in the queue, however my ticket had not yet been assigned.
I wish I had called the local company to begin with and paid the tow fee out of pocket which amounted to about the same as one year AAA membership.
Lesson learned.

Once my membership expires I will become a former member rather than current one.
Since there doesn't seem to be any direct way of contacting AAA customer service I suspect they really don't care what type of service they are actually providing. Save your money

  • Stuck in a trench, couldn't get out.
  • Called AAA; they texted a link, long wait; my number was corrected, and help arrived after about two hours.

I got stuck in a trench, and no one could get me out. I was in too deeply.

I called AAA, and they immediately texted me a link. The wait was so long. After an hour, I called back twice. The second time, a kind man informed me that my number was incorrect.

After I corrected it, I still had an extra hour wait, a total of two hours. Actually, it was past two hours before help arrived.

American Automobile Association - Horrible service…left us stranded - Image 2

We had a blow-out on 95 around 4:30 PM. It took two calls and three hours for the AAA service to arrive.

He mounted our spare and didn't even have an air pump to inflate it. He decided to tow us on a trailer, pulling up in front of us, and then just took off. We never saw him again! By then, it was pitch dark.

My husband is in his 90s and I am in my mid 80s. Thank God for our state trooper who called in friends!

Loss:
$300
Cons:
  • Abandoned us

Preferred solution: $ it cost to stay overnight rather than stay with our friends in NC, $ to cover what we had to pay the guys that the state trooper got for us, money for the service call the next day to have a new tire remounted.

American Automobile Association - Our local tow companies do not like AAA

I needed to get a tow for repair of my disabled vehicle. I was quoted 2 hours from a tow business 4 miles away.

After repeated calls to AAA and online tracking, saying they were on their way they had not left yet after 2.5 hours. Tow companies do not like AAA due to their cheap rates they offer tow companies to tow. I pay for a premium membership, it's not so premium.

I now have to seek alternative methods to get to work tomorrow. Waste of my time.

User's recommendation: Stay away from AAA, pay cash they do not deliver great service any longer.
