Battery issue

American Automobile Association - Battery issue
American Automobile Association - Battery issue
American Automobile Association - Battery issue
I have been a AAA member for years...perhaps 30+ years! On 9/11/23 I called AAA because my car would not start. Sounded like a battery to me. A nice man came to check out my car and was baffled because my car would not turn over without battery charging. BUT when he used his device to test the battery and alternator it tested "fine and operational". He called his manager who proceeded to tell me there was something else wrong with my car and to take it into a mechanic. Since I have AAA Plus, they towed it to Coggin Honda down in St. Augustine, FL. which is 45 minutes from me. They have serviced my car for 20 years. Over the phone, Honda told me that it sounded like a battery problem. After receiving my car at the Honda dealership, they tested the battery and THEIR test indicated that it was the battery! Had I not had the AAA plus membership...that would have been a serious outlay of $ to have it towed that far. But now I used my towing service unnecessarily. PLUS we now had to drive down to St. Augustine and pick up my car. Two of us and 1 1/3 hour of our time! Why would I continue to spend money on this insurance for 3 of our cars and not have reliable battery testing devices??? I have the battery printout which I can provide you from Honda. I would like some kind of remuneration for all of our trouble. Marsha Wright

Too bad for hag. And it’s called life.

Sometimes things happen and you need to deal with it. You don’t walk around demanding money for your time. You peaked long ago and no longer matter. Don’t pay for AAA anymore.

No one cares. You sound horrible.

I received a letter from AAA Auto Insurance in response to the BBB complaint I files and the reason(s)m they gave about raising my insurance premiums every six months starting last July, 2022, is because of inflation and whenever mileage is put on a vehicle (one with...

Original review Feb 26, 2023
I purchased an auto policy from AAA two years ago and starting last July 2022, my rates started going up and when I called then to inquire the reason first given me was that the rates in Mississippi were going up. Well, it went up by $10 per month, then when I got my most recent renewal notice (February 2023), premiums was going up another $10 per month starting in March 2023. SO I called again and ask why were my rates going up again after 6 months, and the first reason was "the mileage had gone up a little", well, my mileage since March 2021 (two years), has gone up by 1940 miles (my car is a classic, 1992 Ford Explorer Sport), and I don't drive it a lot, mostly stays parked. I might use it sometimes to go visit family, to go to store sometimes. Then they gave me another reason was that "rates go up all the time", but why every six months all of a sudden? I am a senior and am supposed to have all the senior discounts, senior driving course, policy longevity, multiple policies, good driving record, etc., applied. I was paying (March 2021),$42.00 per month then it went up to (September 2022), $47.00 per month, now starting in March 2023 they want to increase it to $54 per month. When I called to inquire, all I got was an incompetent agent who didn't know anything. So after speaking with "4" agents and going back and forth with no resolution, I told them I will get another policy somewhere else. So I ask the agent to remove everything but the state mandated liability until I get another policy in a few days from another company. I was sent several emails from the AAA agent (Thomas Graves), and he was soooo incompetent it was pathetic. I did what was required of me, but he kept sending me emails about the same thing, over and over and over again, pathetic to say the least. Policy # A5695****

AAA will leave you STRANDED & cancel your membership AFTER 17+ yrs

American Automobile Association - AAA will leave you STRANDED & cancel your membership AFTER 17+ yrs
On 24 Sept. 2022 Sat. my vehicle was disabled on the highway 100+ miles from home, so I contacted AAA motor club which I had a Premier RV membership for 17+ years when AAA could NOT find a provider to tow me home after 4+ hours on the phone\stranded. In fact AAA motor club told me to find a way back on my own and then seek re-imbursement for expenses ($1100). Then I received a letter dated 12 Dec. 2022 Mon. denying me the option to renew my membership along with 3 other family members. So I was trying to understand why this happened when AAA provided ROTTEN service and left me stranded 100+ miles which I was still willing to give my money for another year. I contacted AAA for more clarification which was NO help in fact I was told "decision is final" so I finally spoke with the person whose name was auto signed on that letter. He chose to make the statement that it costed more to keep the membership active despite the 17+ year relationship and IF he was to make an exception for me he would have to for others...wow! (sad) I learned also that AAA motor club were canceling membership(s) during the height of the 'COVID' pandemic (2021). I have $1k credit on my acct plus had 3 life insurance policies with AAA which I have cancelled and to date still have NOT received my $1k. Hopefully no ONE will experience the treatment that I received from this SORRY company. I also wonder how AAA motor club can give advice to the public via media when CLEARLY they are NOT a reputable entity. I will NEVER stop posting this experience until AAA motor club is OUT-OF-BUSINESS or sold. I ask that you NOT give this company any of your hard earned money and IF you do good luck on the road.

AAA auto Insurance Venice Florida RIP-OFF

I could give a negative star I would. Mary Petty and the AAA auto insurance company are thieves. I paid for 6-month premium on auto insurance on 12/6/22 for $1148.05. In February I started getting mail stating my insurance will be raised $938.93 with no explanation, I called Mary Petty and she said this is a mistake and she would take care of it. Then on March 6, 2023 my credit card was charged $938.93. I then went to Progressive Insurance and they gave me Auto insurance for 6-month for $1144.00 but they only charge my card monthly I then canceled my AAA auto insurance expecting a full refund of the $938.93 plus half of the original $1148.05 which would be $574.02. $938.93 $574.02 total refund expected $1512.05 instead AAA gives me refund of $1197.66 with no explanation. AAA still owes me $314.40. At this point I tried to get my credit card company involved but now chase is saying the original payment in december is too long ago. I now have the Florida Department of Financial Services looking into this they are a division of the Florida Attorney generals office. I will filing a small claims law suit against Mary Petty and AAA soon I will keep everyone posted.

Bad behavior, violent shouting and insults and zero accountability

A Nissan AAA van came to give my Mom's car service, she had a battery issue. There was some haggling over price but the service guy blew up. He started yelling violently at my Mom when she had done nothing wrong and was being kind and reasonable. I have never experienced any service person, professional or worker in any capacity yell at any member of my family like this ever. This was unacceptable. I felt scared for my Mom's safety. The dude took a pot shot at probably me, when I was present, saying to us, something to the effect of "stop eating out at Taco bell so much," which was not relevant and was totally insulting. First of all, neither me nor my Mom eat at taco bell, and even if we did, that wouldn't be a cause of bad finances or have anything to do with this. I took video evidence of the occurrence and the license plate and car ID of the service person. However, AAA has no phone numbers that allow concerned customers to complain. I tried navigating through their fully automated option system, but everytime I tried to get an agent on the line, nobody answered. This company clearly doesn't want to allow customers to contact their administrators and they don't want to be held accountable at all for the misdeeds of their employees and their company. The employee in question needs to be investigated and disciplined, but there is no mechanism for this. I will be sending mail to them but I suspect this company has zero accountability, morals and dedication to addressing wrongdoing, as is too often common in our society today, where morals are in universal decline, and people cheat and harm in public and private settings.

User's recommendation: If their employees do any kind of misconduct, you are out of luck because nobody at the company will care and good luck getting anybody else to care or take action!

I may have to amend my complaint. The company in question was Finish Line Towing of Madison, WI.

They fulfilled AAA's service. This still applies to them somewhat, but it is mostly about Finish Line Towing. However, Finish Line Towing does not appear on pissedconsumer's database and AAA is responsible for contracting out to them.

I spoke to the President of Finish Line Towing who said I falsified everything (even though I showed him the video I posted to TikTok proving what I said was true and that I was present and a witness) and said I wasn't a witness nor was present. Very disturbing.

Why was there haggling over price? If you did not like the price, send him on his way and find somewhere else to deal with.

@PissedConsumer2324560

That is irrelevant, it wasn't the price that mattered here, it was the yelling and insults.

Pissed - flat tire

It was raining and I noticed a flat tire when I came out of my store. That was at 4:30 PM. I called AAA and they said theyd be out within an hour so I kept myself busy and no-show in an hour so I contacted them They said they thought they were on the way. I waited another 45 minutes no-show. I called AAA again and they said they thought they were on the way, I asked how long and they told me maybe another hour. But that time it was getting dark and it was around 630 7 oclock. It was in a *** part of town and the stores were closing putting me in a very precarious position. I called them again, and they said they were still on their way, but theyre not sure what happened to them by 8 oclock. I started calling around to tire companies that may be open still fortunately, I got a hold of one and they told me there was a neighborhood tire service that was mobile I took a chance and contacted them. The guy came out within 10 minutes had my tire on my car in 10 minutes. He only charge me $40 so I contacted AAA just to see where they were and they said they were still on their way. They told me that when they got there to let them know so I went home and by that time it was 9 oclock and about 15 minutes later, I got a ping on my phone saying that they cannot seem to find me at the destination. Unbelievable !!! do not use AAA they take forever when they tell you will be in an hour. most people have some sort of car repair service with their insurance, I would advise that people think about that instead, they made me wait over FOUR hours, I was a female alone and vulnerable, and they were oblivious to my situation. I give them NO stars! I have no receipt because I left.

Battery details.

I had to replace an AAA battery in my truck yesterday. It was dated December 2019, which means I should receive a prorated rebate for it. Unfortunately, I can provide no other details concerning it. How can I find out when and where it was purchased? I assume it was while travelling in the USA. My CAA membership number is 620275****105004.
